HIVES!

Tripp has a BAD case of hives. It began Thursday morning when he came into our room scratching his head. I checked for lice...none. I thought it was due to the Dove shampoo I washed his hair with...nope, because when he stripped down to take another shower I noticed there were small welts, bug bite- looking things everywhere, and very large patches of welts covering his body. I have never seen anything like it. They just appear and then disappear only to reappear on another part of his body. The Benadryl does not help the look but helps the itching.

Here he is a few days into it- looking MUCH better than before- (according to the dr they can last up to two weeks...yay). No he does NOT have ringworm...some of the welts look like it and I freaked out, but have gotten a big fat NO from two different docs.

This is apparently due to the omnicef/ceftin Tripp took for his strep throat last week. He's not only allergic to amoxicilin but also now allergic to ceftin. Our choices are now limited! Let's hope the hives disappear soon.
